OK people, this one is sort of belong to the Cool category if I may say. If you were unable to attend this year’s Imagine Cup event, this is something for you. Somebody just took it upon himself to publish an app with details of the recently concluded Imagine Cup 2012 event in the land of Oz. I have to say, the app was well thought-of. It contains details of each contestants and their entries. I am sure with some media of sort judging by the size of the app (146Mb). Following is the description of the App from the Store:
The world’s toughest problems will be addressed one solution at a time. In its 10th year, the Microsoft Imagine Cup brings together students from around the world who are stepping up to the challenge of leading global change.
For Imagine Cup 2012, students selected from three competitions; Software Design, Game Design: Xbox/Windows, and Game Design: Phone, but these weren’t their only opportunities to compete. They also had the opportunity to share their world-changing ideas in the Kinect Fun Labs Challenge, Windows Metro Style App Challenge, Windows Azure Challenge or Windows Phone Challenge.
This application showcases the finalists for all eight competitions, highlighting their projects, the teams and even the students and where they’re from.
Unfortunately I am on vacation at the moment, and bandwidth-challenged, so I can’t download this app to really flesh it out. But from the description of it, it looks to be nice. Download the app and give it a spin. Let me know what you think of the entries and your view on the winning entry.
